8 ORDER OF THE ARROW |

WELCOMEWe are pleased to have you visit the Mascoutens Order of the Arrow Lodge Eight web site, home of the Beaver!
Brief HistoryThe Mascouten Indians (which means "People of the Little Prairie") were a merger of the Fox, Sauk, and Kickapoo tribes. They were first visited by Jean Nicolet in 1634 at their town located on the upper Fox River in what is now Green Lake County, Wisconsin. Our Lodge was created in 1971 as a result of the merger of the Racine and Kenosha County Boy Scout Councils. When OH-DA-KO-TA Lodge #153 and Chippecotton Lodge #524 combined to form our present Lodge, the National Order of the Arrow assigned the number eight to it. Click on the "History" link for a more detailed discussion of our lodge history and of the Mascouten Indian Tribe.
